Higher Beeson House is a hidden gem set in a tranquil valley in the South Devon coastal countryside offering luxurious bed and breakfast in an informal, relaxed atmosphere.
All rooms in the Stables have super-king-size beds with duvets; one room has a four-poster bed. There is comfy seating in all bedrooms. Each generously sized bathroom has a spa bath. New for summer 2010 our Garden Room. A twin bedded romwith en-suite shower in a south facing single storey detached converted barn overlooking the gardens and pond. The centrally heated rooms have colour satellite TV with DVD players, beverage trays, hairdryers and safes. There are ironing facilities and a shared guests' fridge. Relax in the owner's dining room; a short walk across the courtyard, to enjoy a delicious, traditional AGA cooked breakfast using local produce. Suppers can be arranged in advance. Internet access for laptops. Drying room for walking clothes. Parking is off-road with ample room for boats.
Bird-watching is one of the many interests in this area, even from this spectacular, sub-tropical garden many species are spotted, including kingfishers, woodpeckers, ospreys and in the springtime evenings nightingales can be heard. The extensive landscaped gardens feature many beautiful sub tropical plants. There is a log cabin with a terrace and deck overlooking the large wildlife pond. Just under a mile away is Beesands fishing village; also situated nearby to Slapton Sands and Slapton Ley Nature Reserve. A 20-minute drive along the beautiful coastal road will find you in the picturesque resort of Dartmouth.
